Swell Resort Burleigh Beach

We loved the resort! We stayed on level 3 in the middle, overlooking the pool towards the ocean for the weekend. Great for the kids and the BBQ and pool worked well for our friends who called over and their kids. On Saturday afternoon we all had drinks on burleigh hill lookng over the surf and surfers. Magic!

When we arrived we were told that our appartment that was booked more than 3 months earlier was unavailble beacause of a maintenance issue and no other rooms were available. We were moved onto another resort. If we had wanted to stay at another resort that is where we would have booked!!

The apartment was beautiful, clean, with modern furnishings. Even though it was raining pretty much the whole week my friends and i were at burleigh, there was still lots to do and didnt feel cramped in the apartment.
It was very easy to catch a bus up to surfers for shopping or a night out. The staff we're really nice and very helpful with booking taxis. It's very close to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores. Its the perfect place to have a relaxing holiday.

Liked: The pool, the large balonies, bottle shop downstairs (very convenient), the pub downstairs (for food), the helpful staff, the shop at reception where you can buy essentials

No one answering reception after hours when very noisy party in residential unit.
Swipe keys for security worked intermittently.

Liked: Well situated back from traffic noise.
Disliked: Running out of toilet paper and having to purchase extra rolls plus d/w liquid

Had a great time! Kids loved the heated pool and walking the beach and headland was fantastic. BBQ by the pool was really nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Loved the resort! We stayed in 1050 with 2 young kids, on 3rd floor - close but not too close to the action. Views over the pool out to the ocean. Away from the road, in the middle of the complex. Loved the pool and BBQ for breakfast and dinner. Great for young families.

It was pointless making a special request as it was completely ignored and as we have small children we particularly wanted a ground floor room for safety. Being two stories above ground level and with a direct opening door to the balcony from the second bedroom (which is where the children slept) was very concerning. The door could not be locked with a key to prevent children opening it. We asked reception for a change of room, and although we were staying for 10 nights, we were told nothing else was available for the entire time. Given the fluctuations in the car park traffic, I find this hard to believe.

There were also issues with the alarm system which was beyond their control but annoying anyway. Particularly when you were told in print that nobody would be disturbed before 10 am by the workers who were coming to fix it and they were at our room at 9 am.

When our room was serviced mid week, the service left a lot to be desired. We packed everything up so that they could vacuum as per the instructions we were given and there was still a mess on the floors. This was the one thing the rooms could do with a small vacuum for people to use, particularly as they are self contained apartments and you cook and eat there and may need to sweep or vacuum any mess.

I stayed for a wedding, everything was lovely, except for having to dispose of our own rubbish in our rooms, out to the rubbish shoot - that was very odd and put a dampiner on our stay. Loved the new restaurant on the ground floor and the special discount for in house guests - i would recommend this restaurant for all guests wanting breakfast.

Lazy management - never there when needed.

Clean, excellent facilities with reasonable service. Difficulties with patio doors to balcony & front door to apartment not having childproof locks on and Reception very unhelpful about this. Location is adjacent to a very busy road which you need to cross to get to the beach & road noise is a problem in sea-facing rooms. It's really a cross between a hotel and serviced apartments as Reception not open 24 hours. It's very close to some good local restaurants, many of whom offer take away and also delivery to the apartments. You need to hire a car to visit local attractions as public transport doesn't go directly there from the main road.

The staff were really friendly, I loved the pool and entertainment area; it has a great view of the beach and only minutes walk to the heart of Burleigh.
